From grades five to eleven, I participated in band, badminton, and yearbook. Because of my experience growing up in music, I decided I would take part in band where I was able to travel with our school to participate in competitions. Some of those competitions were at Canada’s Wonderland and other local events. Along with the band, I participated in our school’s badminton team. One year, in particular, my teammate and I made it to the semi-finals and ranked second place out of all the school teams in the Ottawa area. Lastly, I was a part of the yearbook committee. I loved taking photos and expressing my creative side and this opportunity allowed me to do so. I often took pictures at different events, special ceremonies and the day to day life at school. As a committee, we would collect all the pieces needed to complete the yearbook, then organize and create each page. Deadlines are something I find difficult to work around for a few reasons. When a task seems hard and overwhelming, I tend to push the task aside. I also can underestimate how much time a project will take which causes me to fall behind on my deadline. Distractions in life can further prevent me from meeting deadlines. With a very busy schedule and an extremely active two-year-old, getting things done can be difficult. When I think about deadlines, I am led to think about my future educational goals and the time I have remaining to complete my studies, what I will study following high school and whether I will be able to find a job with the education I obtain. I worry that I am running out of time to get my English course completed after facing so many obstacles that have delayed my progress, furthermore, I don’t think I realized how hard it would be to find time to complete this course. Following High School, I would love to attend college. Saying this, I wonder if what I study will land me a job in the field of learning. I have several friends who completed College or university degrees that have struggled immensely in securing work in their field of study. Deciding on what I want to take is worrisome as I really want to find a field where there is a high demand, ultimately securing me a job. Furthermore, I want to enjoy
