In Arndell the king and queen lived in a castle with their butler Sebastian who is ten and the other servants. The king and queen were loved by all and when they had a child everyone in the kingdom rejoiced. Their son’s was named Erick, and he was loved very dearly by his parents, Sebastian and the staff. Everything was great for the king and queen until their fortuneteller Brandon told them the grave future he had seen. He told them that “their son would be killed if he were to live in the castle, because he will be the kingdoms downfall”. Devastated they sent their son away, but not without Sebastian because they knew that he would look after Erick. The first few hours were ok because there was sunlight, but once it was night time things started to happen. The trees began to laugh and the air became chilly. Jane began to shiver so they decided to stop and make a campfire and continue the journey in the morning. Once it was morning Erick and Jane began walking when they heard a low growling sound that got louder and louder along with laughter and then they heard a cry for help. Erick and Jane quickly ran to where the sound came from. Then they saw a woman being tied to a tree and was about to be eaten by huge ugly beasts, horrified Jane screamed. The beasts turned around and growled, quickly Erick covered Jane’s mouth and hid them behind a tree. Then he heard a beast say go look for whatever made that sound. Erick then be began to look around for something anything that could save them from the beasts. Then he spotted a spear that was lying next to a dead body. He let go of Jane and ran to get the arrow, when he got to the body he picked up the spear and turned around to head back to Jane. Then he saw that the beast had captured Jane and was about to take her to the other beasts. Terrified Erick ran toward the beast and stabbed it in the back of the head, there was a loud roar and then the beast collapsed to the ground. Erick looked at the woman while gasping for breath and asked her “what’s your name?” she said “Isabella, what’s yours?” “Erick.” Erick then asked “why was she being tied up by beasts?” Isabella then said “because I’m a mermaid and once you eat a mermaid you become immortal” he looked at her confused because she didn’t look like a mermaid. Isabella asked Erick to turn around and he did, she removed her clothes and got into the water once she did Erick turned around and saw Isabella’s tail. She then asked “what he wanted with her mother’s lake?” he then said that “he needed to go to Arndell.” She then asked “are you by any chance looking for Sebastian?” surprised that she knew Sebastian he nodded his head yes. Relived she give him a ring and said “please give this to Sebastian because this is the only way for us to be together, this ring will allow him to became a mermaid as well.” Erick then asked “why does he have to become a mermaid?” Isabella said “because it’s forbidden for a human and mermaid to get married, but after they get married they can choose to either stay mermaids or become human and live together on land.” Erick smiled and said that “he will give the ring to Sebastian.” Isabella smiled and then she flicked her tail to create a whirlpool.
