Hearing the alarm go off to indicate that there were only thirty minutes left until classes began, Daveigh groaned. There was no way she wasn't going to end up late today. Not because she was only just waking up, the seventeen year old had been up for hours, but because she had been so busy getting her makeup just right that she hadn't even bothered with her hair yet let alone her having enough time to go get coffee from the student lounge. Everyone has them. Bad hair days, that is. A little wind, a lot of humidity, too little time in the morning, too much time spent having fun the night before--the reasons for bad hair are as varied as the hair swatches in a colorist's book. Everyone has different strategies for those days. You may have tried a few of them: Wearing a hat…

It all started one week into my junior year. All my life I have loved to do hair, my mother was never very good at doing it, so from a young age I would do my own hair. I remember days where I would show up with half of my hair in a ponytail because my mom “put it in too tight.” Days would go by where I threw fits when she would try and do it for me, but one day she didn’t. Then days after that, still nothing.…

Stonehouse Coffee Entering Stonehouse Coffee, I am hit with a burst of warm, delicious smelling air that contrasts sharply with the dry, biting cold of the winter weather outside. As I make my way up to the counter, I observe my surroundings. The walls of the little coffeehouse are painted a dark brown espresso color, rather pertinent for a coffee shop. The wall to my right is covered with shelves full of Stonehouse 's own signature coffee, scone mixes, hand-made mugs, coffee makers, and just about any gadget a coffeeholic could desire. To the left are four small tables and a stone fireplace.…

Avoid using a plastic comb and avoid using a hairbrush on your hair while the hair is still wet as it makes the hair shaft more prone to splits and it also tends to dislodge the hair sitting in the hair follicle and can enhance hair fall.…
