A Great Trick Play Analysis

Improved Essays
A great trick play that pays off can demoralize the opposition and provide enjoyable memories for years to come. Think of Dan Marino yelling, “Clock,” to delude the Jets into thinking he would spike the ball or the Bills sneaking a defensive lineman onto the field to catch a touchdown on a fake field goal attempt. But trick plays can also go wrong. And when they go as badly wrong as whatever the Colts were trying Sunday night, they bring not admiration, but scorn, mockery and just plain laughter. With 1 minute 14 seconds left in the third quarter, and trailing the Super Bowl champion Patriots by 27-21 and still very much in the game, the Colts had a fourth-and-3 at their own 37.

After defeating the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday for their second straight victory, the Philadelphia Eagles took their talents on the road to CenturyLink Field against the Seattle Seahawks. The Eagles came into today's game with a record of 1-4 on the road. Nevertheless, the Eagles were not able to change their fortunes as they were dominated on both sides of the ball, losing to the Seahawks 26-15. Cam Newton's Football

In football the money quarter is the 4th it's when heroes are made or goats to blame. Sunday quarterback Cam Newton engineered two touchdowns in the final four minutes to seal this victory. Put it in perspective, Newton was 12 for 15 162 yards and the game-winning strike to tight end Greg Olsen with 32 seconds left. My favorite part about this whole thing is the fact that Newton is staying in the pocket looking downfield and trusting his wide receivers not just using his legs to burn defenses. It's so much fun to see his maturity and football IQ continuing to rise every game he threw some absolute frozen ropes where only our receivers could catch them.…

At one point or another, everyone has stood up for something that they believe in or that they thought was right. Personally, I hate to admit that I am wrong, even if midway through an argument I realize that I am clearly wrong. However, there is one particular case that many of my friends tease me about and that is the accusation of my favorite football team the New England Patriots cheating in the 2014 AFC Championship game. I constantly stand up for the Patriots because they have been my favorite team since I was in the second grade and I will always be a big fan of theirs. I do not feel that I am wrong in this case.…

Gone Home is a narrative exploration game by the company Fullbright that stars Kaitlin Greenbriar returning to her family home after being overseas. Gone Home is often questioned on the complexity of its game play, and is often thought to be more of an interactive story, however it does fulfill the requirements of a game and I will be discussing various game play mechanics in Gone Home such as the different objects and their attributes, rules for game play and the overall design that help to support the narrative, as well as how all of this is used to create an effective story and why this is the best medium for such a story. I will start by giving the briefest of summaries; the game opens with Kaitlin, who we control in a first person perspective, returning home to a locked house all set in the 90s Their is a note left…

The Backfield Package by Thomas J. Dygard is a fiction sports story about a football team that has a chance to win the Rend Lake Conference championship in back to back seasons. The story mainly focuses on four players Joe Mitchell the quarterback, Tracy Jackson a wide receiver, Coley Brewster a running back, and Lew Preston the fullback and where these players will decide to go to college to play football at. The time that this story goes on is unknown, but I would assume that the time is sometime in the nineties or pretty close to there. The story takes place though in southern Illinois at a small high school named Hillcrest High.…

After the Panthers’ much-needed 30-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday, Newton threw down the gauntlet against NFL officiating crews for putting his safety in jeopardy with missed calls on questionable hits. However, Newton’s claims have already been debunked. Henceforth, he should focus on adjusting his game to mitigate the hits he does experience instead of looking for someone to blame.…
