Another idea I would like to add is that this so called “lady” does not seem to care what her own family thinks rather than herself, because she decides where they go to for a vacation as well as them going to a plantation that ends on bad terms for them all. Especially for herself. She would rather put her life on risk of death and not be worried about her own family that would have also been killed as well. The grandmother would refer back to her past times saying this or that happened “in my time”. (pg.339). “Children were more respectful of their native states and their parents and everything else.” (pg. 339). “If I could paint, I’d paint that picture myself.” (pg.339).The grandmother would mention. The children could never have their way of going anywhere neither do what they wanted to do. When the grandmother realized they were on their way to the plantation she fell asleep and woke up realizing that the family was not in Tennessee, yet in Georgia. The family was in a critical condition because without even knowing where they got into a crash a man was pulled out of a vehicle alone and went towards them and this man was known as “the Misfit”. The grandmother would constantly convey that all men in general were good and no matter how people are they may always find their superior way of thinking by doing something dreadful whether you are in a good or bad circumstance. Because of this statement, she learned the hard way by confessing to the misfit and by not acknowledging the presents nor thoughts of others.
