Some focus on the random junk they can buy with it; whereas, others focus on holding on to every penny; neither really focus on the necessities. A good example of this is the MTV show “Teen Mom”. They go out and buy every shiny thing within reaching distance instead of buying baby formula, cloths, bibs, diapers, etc. They put their wants before their needs. Another example of a TV show is SpongeBob. (I know it’s pretty childish, but I don’t watch much TV.) In a different sense, Mr. Krabs doesn’t really take care of his daughter, Pearl, because he would rather pinch every penny he comes across. He wants to keep all his money, so he doesn’t

Before I read the book A Long Walk to Water I never really knew how the rest of the world was in poverty stricken countries. I always thought that it was bad there but not to the extent of what that book showed me. It shows how the war has taken a toll on the people and countries there like the sudan lost boys who most of them never found there family again. I really don’t know how someone could survive out there in the wild of africa by themselves at such a young age. Also it shows that present day Africa still isn’t much different and that Nya has to walk 8 hours a day just to get one container of water.…

The older folks referred to in the article are homeless people that live across the United States. Fagan maintained that the nation can do better in terms giving back to the needy, especially considering the wealthy of the nation. However, what Fagan failed to mention in the article is what the homeless are not doing for themselves. Long time homelessness is a predicament that can only be blamed on the homeless because people that wind up homeless for whatever reasons are capable of changing their situation.…

We are told that things must be done in a certain order, years of primary, secondary and tertiary education, graduate, get a job, get married, start a family and cease to exist. To some people money itself “meant more love, more commitment, and more status” in a relationship than anything else (Shapiro 283). ‘High Status’ can be defined as living a life of comfort and leisure. This lifestyle then creates an addiction, blinding people to their actual monetary needs and gives them a false craving for more money to maintain their life of comfort. The people that feel the need to marry rich are either lonely, need to pay off some expenses, or desire a life of luxury (Nichols 2). In the Taming of the Shrew it is apparent that marrying rich is what people do to be accepted into society.…
