A great movie should induce a plethora of different feelings and leave the audience with new knowledge or interest in the story. Good Burger is a wonderful film that hits all of the different emotions and leaves the watcher with burning questions. The main character Dexter crashes his mom’s car during summer and has to pay off the damages. He gets a summer job at a burger restaurant, Good Burger, where he meets Ed, his new friend. Dexter and Ed have to investigate a new burger joint, Mondo Burger, take them out of business, and expose their dirty tricks. While these movies were a lot a like in many ways throughout their esseense and what the story is about, I liked City of God the best. I liked the fact that the movie was very fast paced, in color and it seems for some reason more like comic/action movie. The movie would have fast zooms on a characters faces and we could see the camera physically move and shake which you normally don't in movies now, it was more like a documentary than a all in all fake movie. We see how Rocket grows up and he tells us the story of how he got to where he is now, which was in between two gangs. We can see how the movie goes from a small situation to an even bigger one.…

Good Fellas is a highly sophisticated film, which revolves around the lives of mobsters Henry Hill, Tommy DeSimone, and James (Jimmy) Conway, the film shows the situations and progressions the gang has encountered while growing up in the mean streets of Manhattan. The elegance of this film came from the quality dynamics provided by the director, cinematographer and editor also including the highly complex personality of Tommy’s character. With the team’s accomplishments, the film crew portrayed a good sense of what the mob life was like in the 1950s and 1960s and made it to be one of the most realistic gangster movies of all times. Tommy DeSimone is one of the most intriguing characters in the film and is fascinating to see the stressful situations…

This was my first time watching Vertigo and my god, what a masterpiece. It is, of course, as good as anyone says it is. This film is packed with fantastic suspense techniques, a whole lot of mystery and a great amount of unhealthy obsession. There is no doubt about it, Alfred Hitchcock executed this film to nearly perfection BUT this film would not be the masterpiece it is without another incredible genius, Bernard Herrmann. His compositions throughout the entire movie literally made the movie and I am sure that most people would agree with that.…

Apocalypse Now, made in 1979, was a film about the 1954-1975 Vietnam War, along with the psychological effects and how it’s caused a social issue. This war of “aerial bombing and small guerilla skirmishes” was a very “unpopular war”, as Eric Foner says in Give Me Liberty: Fourth Edition. It is also known that this war was America’s longest war lasting a little over 20 years. As shown in the film, it was a brutal, gruesome, and unwinnable war that only one couldn’t imagine. It is quoted in the the film that they would have “rather been in hell” then been there.…
