“Don't misunderstand me: I don't want an affair” is as believable as Lisa trying to convince herself that she had no feelings when her ex-lover, Alden, calls her at school (“A Glimpse of Scarlet”, 41). She may not want an affair but it does not seem to be for the right reasons. She wants to avoid the embarrassment and getting caught by her husband “I could never have an affair here” (A Glimpse of Scarlet, 41). Lisa paints a picture of passion and excitement when explaining the affair from her first marriage in “A Glimpse of Scarlet” by Roxana Robinson. Lisa is able to start her life over again and she tries to avoid having to deal with her past life, including not telling her husband that her ex-lover called her. Lisa misses those feelings
