Once a person chooses to become a firefighter, he begins learning how to give. Firefighters leave their families for twenty-four to seventy-two hours at a time. His family understands this is a part of being something special. A firefighter knows that when the alarm sounds, his life as well as his families can be changed in an instant. On the other hand, in a time of crisis, the firefighter can make a difference to other families. Often, the firefighter performs his assignment without thoughts of his family or regards to his own life.
