. I thought the beginning of the movie was really boring but it got more exciting as time went on. The governor was going out on a limb when he thought appointing a boy scout leader to become a senator was a good idea. Mr. Smith was a very genuine person and did not deserve the treatment he received from the media and other senators in Washington D.C.. I liked how Clarissa Saunders was a strong and intelligent female character. She showed that white men are not the only group of people involved in the government. Women can be a part of politics too. After watching this movie I realized performing a filibuster would be quite difficult to do all alone.
