Do you know someone whose father is not in their life? Or did you grow up without a father? Some people that grow up without their father, may say that they are fine without a male figure in their life. However, not having an active dad in your life can bring about numerous amounts of negative effects. I chose this research topic because this is a major issue not only in the African-American community but also in America. I have seen many people close to me who suffer due to not having a relationship with their father. I have seen females act of out of chastity due to find love that they have not received from their father. I have seen men embrace and cultivate the street lifestyle because male figures are evident. I wanted to study the natural effects that are caused due to the nonexistence of a dad. With wanting to do this, I can up with my research question, “How A Father Figure Being Absent in a Child’s Life Can Affect Them? When I begin the research process, I will be able to search why fathers tend to be absence in a child’s life and potential effects of not having a father in your life. Many individuals would be interested in this topic because it is highly relatable. They may learn new things about others and themselves that they may not have known before. If people are aware of the effects that are brought about based upon the nonexistence of a father figure then maybe individuals will change their actions. Some of these actions could include divorce, men walking out of their children’s life, women keeping fathers out of the child’s life, and even being away on certain jobs.
