EXT. DOWNTOWN SIDEWALK - NIGHT
A drunken man walks down the sidewalk. He stops and leans against a light pole to have to have a smoke. He fumbles out a cigarette and pulls out a flip lighter. After a few tries and cupping the lighter, exposing a cut on his hand, he lights his cigarette. He takes a drag and looks up from the ground off screen. He lightens up and smirks.
DRUNKEN MAN:
Oh, it’s you again! Piss off, you littl... A hand with black gloves is shown with a gun.
DRUNKEN MAN:
Hey, calm down now. There’s no need for this.
A gunshot interrupts the man.
CUT: INTRO
EXT. DOWNTOWN SIDEWALK - LATE NIGHT
The scene of the crime is shown. A man lies dead on the ground with a chalk outline of his body and a few caution markers around him. Two detectives

Lets say Grace.
JACKIE:
Ohh-Ohh I’ll say it.
JACKIE, RAYMOND, and CLAIRE all bow their heads.
JACKIE:
(Giddily)

RAYMOND AND CLAIRE:
AMEN
They lift their heads and grab at their silverware just as the doorbell RINGS.
RAYMOND:
(Looking up surprised)
Who could that be?
CUT:
INT. SUBURBAN HOUSE - HALLWAY - EARLY EVENING
RAYMOND walks down the hall and stops at the doorway, looks through the eye hole. He steps back and opens the door.
RAYMOND:
(Cautiously)
Hey, how may I help you?
Two men stand outside the door wearing trench coats and suit attire hold up their badges.
DETECTIVE TAYLOR:
(Putting his badges up)
I’m detective Taylor. And this my partner detective Dewolfe. Are you
Raymond Smith?
RAYMOND:
Yeah, why? What’s going on?
DETECTIVE TAYLOR:
(Pulling out handcuffs)
Raymond Smith, you’re under arrest for murder of David Hues. You might want to put on your jacket, sir.
RAYMOND:
(Putting on his jacket and walking onto the patio)
Oh no. Not David... I’ll come peacefully. (CONTINUED)
