The word little was mentioned in almost every pet name showing that he was superior to her and also the head of the household, a marriage is supposed to be an equal relationship where both the husband and wife have an equal say in what goes on. Nora tried very hard to be the perfect wife, she liked it when Torvald called her those names as she sees it as endearing whereas actually, it is demeaning.
The role of women as seen in the play was to raise children, and if anything wrong the child did when they grow up it was always blamed on the mother and not the father or the child themselves. “As a lawyer, my dear, I have seen it often enough.
