A Digital Diet is very similar to a food diet. I am restricting myself from the consumption of social media and pretty much anything that needs a screen to function. Basically, I’m going to stop doing what I’ve done for the past 7 years for an entire week. Going cold turkey and cutting myself off from any and all forms of social media was seeming increasingly impossible. So, I decided that the only forms of social media I was allowed during my internet cleanse were: Texting, Calling, and my computer to do school-related work. That meant no Netflix, no YouTube, no Instagram or Facebook. I could already see this was going to be a daunting task. I started by deleting all forms of social media off my phone and tablet. While deleting each app one by one, I felt a sense of relief and calm. Then almost immediately after the calm came the storm. I felt as though a part of me was just deleted.
