‘Twas the day before Thanksgiving and all through the house was the buzz of excitement and anxiousness for the long night ahead. We had activities planned and they had to be done for my family to feel like our whole Thanksgiving experience was complete. An important person in all of our lives makes an appearance that night as well. Everything is held off until that person arrives, just so they do not miss anything. The festivities will last for hours because everyone enjoys this night so much that they do not want to go to bed, even when me and my siblings were little, we would stay up just as long as the adults. There was not a bedtime when this night came around. My family has an annual tradition that we participate in the night before thanksgiving, and this has been going on for as long as I can remember. …show more content…
Before we start anything, we wait for my uncle to get there because that is the only time we will see him that year. He usually shows up around 8 or 9 at night and will stay until 2 or 3 in the morning depending on if we got everything done, and when he finishes telling us his hilarious stories. Once he finally arrives at the house, we start the process of making our ever-so-famous “Waldorf Salad.” And of course before we are done, everyone has taste tested the final product just to make sure we did not mess anything up. That is only the first half of the night. We then all spend time just catching up, and my uncle always has plenty of funny stories for us to listen to. I do not think there is a dull day in his life, just based on all the stories I have heard in past years. The night usually ends with all of us saying goodbye, my uncle leaving and then everyone else, including myself, heading to bed to regain some energy for our feast the following
