A lot of the time humans tend to doubt their self worth and their ability to find the Divine within themselves, but Hafiz assures us that we do not need to seek out for as much spirituality as we thought. The Light is within us at all times and all we need to do is find the strength and courage to connect to what we already have. In Hafiz’s poem “A Divine Invitation” the idea of having the choice of wanting God is apparent. God wants to love us and connect with our spirituality, but in order for that to happen we have to also want Him. Hafiz tells us, “No one can resist a Divine Invitation. That narrows down all your choices to just two.” We are told that God is inviting us to come and connect with Him, and the outcome of our choice is shown. We either come, ready to dance with no resistance or we can be forced to God’s Ward. Instead of being forced with no free will there is the option to want God and to find love within Him. The expectations for finding God is to join with an outwardly physical object, but even in the times when we are all alone God is still there. There is no way to be unable to connect because wherever you are He is still yearning for you. Hafiz makes the importance of the link between spirituality and physicality clear to his readers and he does this in a few ways. First, by finding love and truth not only in ourselves, but in all people that we connect with. He then tells us that no matter how you worship God as long as you are connecting and finding light then that is all that matters. Finally, he shows that even after connecting through those close to God it is also important to connect through those that are at afar from Him. Making links with your spirituality and physicality can be done in a numerous amounts of ways and are most likely done in unexpected ones.
