Since the two men that committed the murder were said to be Italian. Sacco and Vansetti, matched the description like a missing puzzle piece. This trial lasted for 35 days. Everytime they came into court they were tried in a steel cage, which had already been used in many different courts all over Massachusetts. After going over all evidence each of these men were carrying guns that alleged night when first arrested. Saco was carrying a gun with him because he was advised to do that by his employer. While in prison Nicola Sacco wrote many letters to his loved ones, one of the most well know was the one to his son, “One day, you will understand. That day you will be proud of your father; and if you come brave enough, you will take his place in the struggle between tyranny and liberty, and you will vindicate his names and our blood.” All the letters he made to his family members were made public after the end of the trial. Many were saddened by their death. The evidence provided that linked these men to the murder was not sufficient. Sacco barley missed work. He was one of the best workers, so why would he have the time to kill someone but come back to work the very next day? Sacco and Vanzetti augmented the struglle the class was having in the 1920’s. A lot of jobs were in high popular demand, people did not want immigrants/foreigners taking these jobs. They did not want to socialize with people that did not speak English. A hate toward these foreigners grew. There was a lot of what we call brainwashing happening to the jurors to make them believe they were guilty. Articles and newspapers showed the world their radical views and opinions. They let everyone know of how Sacco and Vanzetti left to Mexico when the draft was taking place.
