The murder of Duncan by Macbeth and his wife, Lady Macbeth, can be considered to be one of the most crucial parts of the play Macbeth, written by Shakespeare. It was only after the murder of Duncan did Macbeth have no other option but to continue his endeavor: becoming king. The song “Smooth Criminal” by Michael Jackson best represents act 2 scene 2 of Macbeth. Both pieces contain a similar tense and suspenseful mood. In Macbeth, after the murder of King Duncan had elapsed, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are left to conceal the evidence under the clock of darkness.
