Grant and Lee is a compare and contrast between their personal lives, political views, and how they would hold oneself. Abraham Lincoln and George Washington are two complete different people from different time periods where one had slavery and the other aimed to abolish it. In a compare and contrast of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington each one having their own personal lives, family, and historical actions, which made up some of their differences.

Firstly, Abraham Lincoln was never a person who said that an African American and a white person were equal, but instead said that they were man like them so they should be allowed to obtain property like theirs. In the same way, both of their personal lives consisted of how their upbringing and adulthood were both similar in a way. In fact, their upbringing consisted of both of their successful fathers and both being raised in the South carrying what some would call tradition. While both had different education levels their fathers were both well respected in their communities as being some of the wealthiest families in their area. Both of them were born and raised with the Southern traditions in mind when they went into office. During their adulthood, they were both elected into office more than once and both died before their wives. Since both of them were elected into office obviously that is something both can relate to, but not only did they get elected once they did multiple times. In similar fashion, they both died each of them before their own wives eyes because Lincoln was the first ever to be assassinated and George died of Epiglottitis. By the same token, is their family life they had which consist of descendants and their wives. Their descendants consist of no direct blood and both having no known living bloodline. In like manner, Lincoln had a direct bloodline that ended after, a relative had no children; George’s ended with him having no known children.
