Parkour and free running has lots of inspirations and sources behind it. The origins of this practices cannot be directly determined because of this, but when it was first put together can be traces back to the 1980s in Southern France. There was a group of childhood friends, which called themselves Yamakasi which meant strong man, strong spirit. This group was looked down upon from the public, and French authorities. The group consisted of 9 people, David Belle and Yann Hnnautra being the leaders of them. The idea grew up with them; originating from childhood games and studies of other cultures, this soon matured into an art, movement, or sport. The group practiced this in rural areas. There are gyms, websites, YouTube channels, movies, and T.V. dedicated to the sport. Two movies were released about it titled Jump London and Jump Britain. Jump London, released in 2003, was an actuate representation of what parkour and free running is all about. The sequel, Jump Britain, was released in 2005. American Ninja Warrior is a TV show dedicated to some of the best athletes in the world gather to try to complete an obstacle course, and only one person has succeeded in doing so this far. There are gyms such as Parkour Generations, World Parkour Free running World Federation, and Tempest Free running, which are big gyms in the parkour business. Most people might think it is only good in one aspect, yet it is good in many. For example, it is good for your body because it builds strength, it is good for instincts because it builds up a natural sense of what a person is capable of. Friendships can be strengthened through it, as proven by many athletes. It is an exceptional skill to have for life in general; the opportunities are abundant. Parkour isn't about risk taking, but it's about challenge to surpass limitations. While doing parkour and free running, athletes will want to go into something called a "flow state" in which he goes into an environment, and does whatever motion that comes to them through instinct. While doing this, the motions seem to come to ease, in which case, makes, for a visually stunning performance.
