The Business Dictionary describes a professional as a person who belongs to a specific profession because they completed a required course of studies. Their competencies can be measured against a set of standards and has reached a level of proficiency in their field. According to that definition do I believe I am a professional? I do. A professional also dresses properly, is prepared to teach, complies to the expectations of their school, is passionate about their job, maintains confidentiality, communicates with parents, supports colleagues and pursues excellence. I aim to meet those the best I can.
