Abstract

This paper presents the design of interoperable electronic health record (EHR) systems in India. We achieve this by employing EHR System that uses Cloud Health Information Systems Technology Architecture (CHISTAR). The interoperability is achieved by means of generic design methodology. In this paper we cite the high-level design of CHISTAR and the approaches for semantic interoperability, data integration, and the advantages of CHISTAR over traditional architecture Veteran Health Information Systems and Information Technology Architecture (VISTA). We will cover even the proposal to improve this new design further.

Keywords: Cloud EHR, data integration, electronic health records, CHISTAR, VISTA.
