A class divided
The statement was everyone suffers discrimination at some point in their life. You just have to learn to cope with it. You learn that as you grow up. Why can’t blacks do that? As an African American, black woman and who has raised and presently raising African American men into a society that has history of discrimination, the memory of blacks being killed in an unjust way, or being stopped because the skin color is black. Knowing the history of black’s hardship of demanding and dying to be part of an fair and equal world and feeling that they have to work three times as harder than the white man in a world that is prejudice, in a world that place a black man under scrutiny because of the color of his skin. …show more content…
My choices was determined because parents are the first to teach children right from wrong and how to treat people. They learn as children from their surroundings. So if children are taught to discriminate or to have prejudice behavior then they will grow up that way. Our school system is a place that is set up to protect our children and to introduce fairness and respect because of the different cultures because they come in contact with one another. So I say that our school can help eliminate such behavior in the schools and it can teach children to treat one another with positive behavior. Our legal system has set up laws that supposed to protect people from racism. The question is, is the legal system responsible for the existence and elimination of racism in our society? I would have to say, yes the legal system is responsible for the existence because the legal system should have protected the people better in the past and set laws, rules, and policies that demonstrated that all people are to be treated equally. There should have not been any type of racism existence from the beginning. So, it doesn’t matter how many laws are set up it is too late to change what already exist. The elimination of racism will never happen it will always be such ignorant behavior because it has been in existence for too long. It is part of society. What can’t be eliminated can develop a positive outcome and that been shown in many case over our country because discrimination is not everyone. We as individuals are the key to change. We change how we are going to change racism. We are the one who determine the type of behavior we want to demonstrate to
