Even without wearing the winter jackets in the theater, I felt how painful it would have been if I did, but I believe the costume designer, Bill Layton, had done a very good job of creating 1980s, winter themed costumes for the actors. I loved the scene when Isaak Bailey, played as Randy, had to wear a very thick, blue snow suit. It made Isaak look additionally adorable. I also heard the audience say “awww~!” Bill Layton did a very good job disguising actors from one character into another. For example, in the scene where the old man, played by Matthew Olver, went out to buy a Christmas tree, the seller was Steve Ross, the same actor that played the narrator. There were no errors, the volume of the actors’ voices were equal, the timing of the sound effects were on point, and the microphone quality had no errors or echoes. Scenes with music amplified the actions in the scene. For example, on a scene where Logan Thompson, played as Scut Farkus, chased the children to bully them, there was a humorous, exciting music playing in the background. I thought that music was perfect for that scene. I don’t see how the music and the sound could improve because Jill Heil and Doug Price did an amazing job. Lighting was the only source to distinguish locations on the stage. By providing light to the stage, I was able to lose my focus on the biggest scenery on the stage, the house, and focus on the location where the action is taking place, for example, the school, school yard. The lighting designer, Renee Brode, provided all of those elements with no errors.
