A Christmas Memory Summary

In the short story, “A Christmas Memory”, Buddy and his Cousin had a bond that has a long lasting impact on Buddy as he grew older because his cousin was a childlike, optimistic sixty-something year old who taught him how to appreciate things in life which showed that true friendship has no barrier or boundary like how at school, I don’t have any classes with my friends but we’re still close.
To begin, Buddy and his cousin have a strong bond because Buddy’s cousin allowed him to realize how important it is to appreciate things in life. As on page 71, ‘We huddle in bed, and she squeezes my hand I love you. “Seems like your hand used to be so much smaller. I guess I hate to see you grow up. When you’re grown up, can we still be friends?’”. Becoming a teenager soon, Buddy’s time with his cousin was only getting shorter. Realizing that, Buddy’s cousin expressed how much she loved him. Continuing, on page 72, “I have a new home, too. But it doesn’t count, Home is where my friend is, and there I never go.”. Now attending military school, Buddy reminisced when he lived

Unfortunately, we usually only have one or two classes together, but this year, we don’t have any. Regardless, we are still close friends and we don’t feel any awkwardness. When we hang out, there is no such thing as an awkward silence because she understands that I’m not quite talkative while she is the opposite. Like Buddy’s cousin, Trisha is the one of the considerably optimistic and prominent person in my life, she is constantly positive and laughing, whereas, I’m just enjoying her happiness. I want to see my best friend to be eternally happy similar to Buddy.
All in all, Buddy’s cousin is an impactful, memorable person in his life because she taught him how to appreciate the things in life, even when she was merely a childlike, positive elderly lady representing how true friendship has no barrier or
