A Christmas Carol: How People Motivates People To Change

There are many things that provoke people to change. People can change in an instant and people can change gradually. Some people may think change is impossible, but it isn’t. People can change if they meet friends who show them another side that they didn’t know or you can change because you saw something on television. The world around you can promote you to change in ways you didn’t think was possible. Seeing someone who doesn’t have as much as you can cause you to help them. When changing you can strive to be a better person. Many things motivate people to change, fear, seeing other people's pain/accomplishments, and listening to the good in this world. Many things can also alter your specific way of thinking. One of my neighbors had been drinking one night and he thought he was okay to drive, but he wasn’t. When he was only a few blocks away from his home, he crashed into two parked cars. He not only damaged the two cars, but wrecked his own. For me that motivates me by fear to never drink and drive. Seeing Tiny Tim’s empty crutch, seeing a gravestone with his name, and seeing people sell his things motivated Scrooge to change. Charles Dickens’ timeless story, A Christmas Carol, has been adapted into countless stories, plays and movies.
