The main character Christina in the story “ Christina’s courage” written by Jonna Campbell is a middle school girl. This character tries to overcome the idea that she needs to slow down on her dreams of being an Olympic rider. Most of the story takes place at a big thoroughbred breeding and training farm in Kentucky where she lives and at the farm down the street where she takes jumping lessons. The problem is Christina thinks nobody can get in the way and soon she will become an Olympic rider. Christina is a very different character because of her many different traits responsible; stubborn; and jealous.

Christina is very responsible young girl. “Your project until school starts” Christina’s mom said. “Your projects?” Christina went to the door and peered in and a fuzzy faced weanling peered back at her. This shows how her parents trust her to work with a valuable race horse. She shows responsibility when her parents let her go to the baseball game without them and ride home with one of her friends parents. “Quickly; she climbed in and dylan slid in beside her .As they drove home they all discussed the game. This shows me more about how much her parents trust her.

This is shown through what she does and thinks. “Christina folded her arms in front of her. I wasn’t okay with her, but she knew there was no was she could change her mother’s mind. Her thought also make me think she is stubborn. “Christina rolled her eyes. She hated it when her mother gave her advice.”

At some point we see that Christina is jealous. We can see this through her actions and what she says. The boy Christina likes says “Cassidy’s going to work with us too.” Christina’s mouth fell open. “She is? I-I mean great!” and also “Christina shot her friend a don’t say another word look then let Sterling into the bar.” This shows at some points that she can be very jealous of Cassidy
