In the book Max by James Patterson, I read from pages one to 94. Max and the rest of her friends have gone to a "safe" school, where they can actually learn for once. Then, Jeb, Max's dad, calls and tells them that Max's mom has been kidnapped by a group demanding that their anti-pollution plan be shut down. Max is infuriated and is about to go for her mom, when she realizes that she is surrounded by robots, who are all armed with guns.
