5. Allies and Opponents The problem of step families is something that is becoming more and more common these days. That is why all the support is needed that we can get. At Blended Family Getaway Camp we plan to work state, local and national allies to make the camp the best we can. Locally we plan to work with Pittsburgh Parent and local support groups through Meet Up around the area. Sate wide we plan to work with Family Resources and Family Resource and Counseling Center. Nationally we plan on working with National Step family Resource Center and Blended Family. The only opponents we see for our program is getting the funding to keep our camp running.

Specifically with step families and blended families there were Pittsburgh Attachment Parenting Community, I’m a Stepmom which is located in Cranberry Pennsylvania and Belleville Mom’s meetup. These groups are normal moms who get together with their kids and do activities together and bond. This gives someone that the new stepmoms can talk and relate to. They meet as often or less often depending how the group wants to set up their meetings. They places most of these groups go is to parks to eat lunch local events like library story time at their local area library or the local community event going on during that time, it was also seen that some of the groups met at the other stepmoms house for a playdate. So now not only is the step mom getting support from other step moms but she is going out in the community and getting support …show more content…
They offer parent education classes that teach families how to build resiliency and family functioning. Their one kind word program helps prevent family conflict in public. Also their high fidelity wrap around develops a program specifically according to that family’s needs. They also offer counseling for the children and the families, they have family focused solution based services which bring the family together as one. Just like our getaway camp Family Resources offers a retreat center where the family in need can get away and work on their family.
Family Resource and Counseling Center This counseling center is located in Lancaster Pa; it focuses more on the children and rebuilding their relationships with their family and strengthens something with in them. The center takes child from a young age to older adults if the children wish to continue. This center also has many counselors on site and on call 24/7 so if a child or anyone ever needed to talk to someone they would always be available. They are a Christian belief center; they do though how ever take in people who do not have the same beliefs as them or who do not even
