If you are interested in doing something worthwhile for your community, then you can take up a career in the police industry. Police officers are employed by the state and agencies which deal with local law enforcement. A job in the police department simply entails
• Reducing crime
• Enforcing traffic safety
• Investigation
• Working in jails
• Testifying in courts in cases they are involved
You have to be ready to accept responsibility, work as a team, meet daily challenges, and gain the respect of your community. There are different roles in the police department.

They give up part of their spare time to support the police department. They also claim expenses they incur in the performance of their role.
• Traffic Officers
These are the heroes of the city. They help in controlling traffic and also enforcing the traffic rules. Their services help in reducing confusion on our roads and also accidents.
WHAT ARE THE CAREER REQUIREMENTS
For you start in this police career, you must be a high school graduate. Then you have to complete a police academy training program. A degree is not a must but those with a degree in criminology or criminal justice always have an advantage.
You must have good communication skills, knowledge of local laws, knowledge of federal state, good judgment skills, excellent leadership skills, have intuition skills, empathy, skills in handling a firearm, perceptiveness, and have a passion for the law. Alternatively, you can work hard to obtain promotions. If you want your police career become a success, then continue with education. Continuing education options are available to police officers. You can take courses in specialized law, attend seminars and go to conferences. This helps a lot especially in getting promotions.
Another success tip is that you should be dedicated to your work. Show work ethics and always keep time. You should also be acquainted with the lieutenant in charge and the detective in your division.
VOLUNTEERING IN POLICING
If you are interested in volunteering in the police department, then apply with your local police department and you will have a great experience in helping people. There are many positions you can volunteer in the police force
