A Career In Pediatric Oncology Research

Decent Essays
In 2013, when I was in the 5th grade, I was assigned a year-long research project. I chose to research something I was passionate about, to research on various types of cancer treatments. In the project, I researched about the pros and cons of Chemotherapy treatments versus Radiation treatments. I interviewed my doctors for information about this subject, and spent weeks and weeks poring over books in order to have the most valid research. I then presented it to an audience at my school STEM Fair. The purpose of this project was not to draw attention to being a cancer survivor, but more to research and find information on something I am passionate about. This research only confirmed my desire to pursue a career in pediatric oncology someday.

Because of my love for children and fascination of the human body, I have narrowed my choices to becoming a pediatrician or a neuropsychologist.
