She believes the only way a person could succeed is to push themselves out of their own limitations. My junior year was the hardest year of my entire school career. I crammed my schedule with seven AP classes that consisted of: AP Environmental Science, Pre-AP Pre-Calculus, AP U.S. History, AP Physics AB, AP Statistics, AP Biology, and AP English. Just listing my junior year schedule gives me anxiety. On top of that, I was preparing for standardized tests in May. My regular bedtime suddenly turned from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on my good days. I became so overwhelmed that I decided to take a break from volleyball that semester. At some points, I felt like giving up when assignments became almost impossible. Luckily, I didn’t. I managed to find my purpose in every class and take advantage of the opportunities each had to offer. AP Biology and AP Physics were the classes that interested me the most. Somehow Mendel’s laws about genetics, the cellular processes of the biological systems, and conservation laws attracted me. I may not have been perfect in every single one of those classes, but I pushed myself to the best of my ability. I enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself. The sacrifices I have made to make good grades has taught me the discipline and the priorities I should focus on.
