A Career In Helping Profession

My desire to be in the helping profession is because I was once in nursing school helping individuals overcome their illnesses, but I did not succeed in the program. My mind pondered because I felt that I was not going to be able to help people in any other career. I started worried and think about what profession I could possibly pursue a degree in. My first thought was social work because my mother is a social worker and I have seen all the many ways that she has helped clients throughout her professional career. Also, in realized the gratification my mother receives knowing that she had helped someone overcome obstacles. Her professional career influenced to me research about social work and find out what areas social workers are most found in. As I finalized my research, I became aware that I could possibly become a clinical social worker and still work in a hospital environment as if I was a nurse. …show more content…
I want to be able to help individuals who are in desperate need for different resources and also people who are mentally ill. Also, I wanted to be in the helping profession because I am able to sympathize with people and make them feel of worth. The helping profession allows social workers to intervene and show people their strengths rather than their weakness. In addition, I want to be in helping profession because social workers are able to advocate for individuals who are unable. Another reason why I want to be in the helping profession is because it allow a social worker become a diverse
