A Career In Healthcare Management: Personal Statement

Saint Leo has been an important role in my education, starting from achieving my Associates 2 years ago, and now recently receiving my B.S Oct 2016. I am a veteran honorably discharged in Oct 2014 from the Navy. I served 14 years of my life straight out of high school, I knew college at that time was not for me then. I wanted to explore a different avenue, not knowing it would become a career. When I started my Associates it was a little rough, I was not confident about starting college after so many years had gone by. But, with time and patience I stepped over this first hurdle. There was no need to stop then, I knew if I had any chance in getting the job I wanted I needed to pursue my Bachelors. I was a Hospital Corpsman while in the Navy, so getting my B.S in Healthcare Management was a great fit. People would ask why I did not pursue an RN or LPN career? My …show more content…
This achievement would set me up for an opportunity to make a difference in the healthcare industry. I would have an advance knowledge needed to help organizations meet their mission and goals. The job market for the healthcare industry is growing, especially in the long-term care aspect. Our baby-boomers are aging and will need healthcare professional to care for them. And I want to be front and center in managing great quality care for not just the elderly, but, for all who are in need. My drive to achieve success cannot be measured, and completing my collegiate journey with an MBA will sets me apart. I know there will be some trying times still to come in my journey, but, I am built to succeed and not quit. The time is now to finish what I’ve started, and begin a successful career. I feel the healthcare industry needs someone like me, that brings fairness and compassion to any organization. An MBA would illuminate these qualities, and bring a since of pride that I concurred this challenge and
