Imagine you lost your job and home, and now you are homeless and living on the streets. Who do you turn to? Where do you go? How do you start over? Our society is full of people in this type of situation. How do these people find help? The person they can go see is a social worker. Social workers help a lot of people in different ways. They meet with children, families, and groups of people. They work with children for child protection. They can also work for private or nonprofit agencies, child care agencies, adoption agencies, and foster care agencies (Career Cruising). They help people recognize the problems in their life.
