A Career As A Residential Assistant

Decent Essays
I am interested in being a Residential assistant because it would give me a chance to mentor other people and get to know them. I enjoy building meaningful relationships and helping people achieve their goals. I would like to be able to guide students through their college experience and encourage them to get involved on campus. Getting involved, especially in the Setters Leadership Program, helped me feel comfortable here at Pace and helped me make new friends. I think I could assist new students with the transition of coming into college and encourage students to work hard while finding their forever friends and making Pace their new home. I also enjoy planning and hosting events which I know is a responsibility of a resident assistant. I've

I anticipate my lifestyle changing a small bit, if I was to become a Residential Assistant. Although the position of being an RA comes before any other commitments, I feel that it will still be possible to balance my social life and continually see my friends. The only main change I foresee is that I will have to watch how I act and what I say. I need to set an example and be a role model. People cannot do that if they act irresponsibly and negatively with their friends or residents.…

There are many duties for a Medical Assistant such as administering oral medications, topical, or intramuscular injections, performing EKG’s also known as Electrocardiograms. Medical Assistants also help physicians during exams, explaining medical procedures, removing sutures from a wound, phlebotomy-drawing blood, filling out patient charts, insurance forms, or medical records. They also order lab tests, schedule patient appointments, and more importantly, they serve and protect the practice and patients by adhering to procedures and policies at the Local, State, and Federal level. There are many reasons why I choose to become a Medical Assistant but by far the most important reason was being helpful and supportive of Grandmother when my late Uncle became sick. When I began high school, I knew I wanted to work in the healthcare field as something, but I was not sure what that something would be.…

From my meeting with Alex Simeone, a resident assistant from Bohn Hall, this past week, I gained an immense amount of information about the overall position as a resident assistant (RA) but also insight about personal takeaways that is unique to the experience at Montclair State University. One of the most profound takeaways was his genuine love for the position itself and being able to provide guidance and balance for both his residents and himself. I understand that a RA’s duties is not easy and it may not come naturally, understandable. I also took away that a positive outlook on the experience will make me a better individual. Alex spoke about the guidance and balance that he has had to integrate into his coming of age as a student and…
