I would be a great asset to arc shopping because of my 13 years of customer service experience. My extensive experience has given me a well- rounded approach to delivering exceptional customer service as well as a very keen attention to detail. When I frequent other businesses, I am able to tune in to how friendly and knowledgeable the employees at that establishment are addressing questions and concerns of their customers. I am also able to see any small details such as improper signage, sensible placement of products, and overall cleanliness of the shelving and floors that the associates may have overlooked. For these reasons, I believe I would serve arc shopping well as a part of the company and look forward to being a part of the…

Working as a Transit officer, or in the vernacular of the force, being a “cave cop” meant that he was a patrolman on subway platforms. His job was to stop people from jumping turnstiles and robbing people in the subterranean nether world of New York. Over time, being too good at his job got him in hot water with his supervisors; arrests meant paperwork and often his supervisors didn’t want the extra burden of paperwork. That led to him getting transferred frequently, but that didn’t stop him.…

If you were to ask me to define my values in a year, ten years, or fifty years, I would answer with a confident and Canadian “sorry” because I imagine that I will be someone unpredictably different, and I will revel in that fact. Do I see myself at age 65 maintaining the same Sunday morning regimen of stationary biking and, afterwards, gorging myself with eggs benedict? Hopefully so, should my health allow it. What is certain, and I say with the surety of a used-car salesman, is that I will forever hold in esteem the ideas of: 1. Compassion and 2.…

“Climbing The Golden Arches” is an essay written by Marissa Nuñez published originally in New Youth Connections, republished in The Norton Sampler. The main idea of this essay is that although the road to a successful career is fraught with hardships, it can be overcome with hard work and determination. At the beginning of the essay, Nuñez describes a scene in which she and her cousin went to eat at McDonald’s and decided to try out for a job there out of curiosity. They filed their applications and about a month later had their job interviews in which both passed. The author was initially surprised to receive the job but that turned into happiness when she realized that she no longer would have to depend on her mother for money anymore.…
