In the article from LA Times “Sleep Deprivation Has Genetic Consequences, Study Finds” Eryn Brown explained that, “Sleep-deprived can be hazardous to your health.” Brown states that, “Losing sleep changed rhythmic patterns in the way genes turn on and off, disrupting the genes’ circadian.” She supports her claim by research and studies, then what the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say, and finally by epidemiologists performing professional tests then telling her the results. Brown writes it in a serious way like she is trying to inform people about a problem, that is lack of sleep is very bad for your health and can cause genetic dangers and that it can affect how you act. Like when she says, “Sleep-deprived can be hazardous to your health.” In order to inform people of this problem, Brown clarifies that, “Tissue harm was occurring after sleep deprivation.” Brown is effective in informing people that sleep deprivation is bad for your health because the reasons she gave were backed up by good evidence and facts and studies. …show more content…
It seems more like the start of the actual article than a title. The author backs up his claim with good evidence that could actually convince someone that sleep deprivation does affect your health in hazardous ways. For example it can harm your tissue. The writer stays on on the topic that lack of sleep is bad throughout the whole article. She explains that lack of sleep is bad. She explained how lack of sleep affects your health. He also back all of this up with clear evidence. All of the writer statements are clear and easy to understand. It was a very well written article and it made me realize that not enough or lack of sleep can be hazardous to your health and dangerous and harming to tissues. The writer never went against what he said. He stuck with his his claim and never said
