A Brief Summary Of Ocean Planet Cooper

A) When Captain Cooper and Dr. Brand first arrive on the ocean planet Cooper explains to his crew that for every hour they spend on the ocean planet seven years will pass on the spaceship. They hope to make it a short tip because Dr. Romilly is staying on the ship and they do not him waiting on them for too many years. However, due to Dr. Brand’s persistence on getting Miller’s data it takes much longer than expected because of a huge wave that hits their crew. Another interesting thing happens on the ocean planet Cooper asked Dr. Brand how the ships wreckage has managed to stay in tacked. Dr. Brand explains to Cooper that due to time slippage the ship had only crashed a few minutes or hours ago. Finally, the crew members that survived the wave arrive back to the space shuttle and realize that Dr. Romilly has been waiting 23 years 4 months and 8 days. This is when Captain Cooper realizes that his little girl will be much older than he expected, when he finally makes it back …show more content…
Romilly wanted “one last crack at the black hole”. Dr. Romilly describes the black hole as a Gargantuan older spinning black hole, he says, “that the black hole is a more gentle singularity” and he wants to use the black hole to send their robot TARS to collect data to help the people of Earth. However, due to unforeseen circumstances out of their control the have to use the Gargantuan to slingshot and push them out of the black holes gravity. Cooper ends up sacrificing his own life to save Dr. Brand and he projects his space ship along with TARS into the black hole to shave weight off of the main ship. In the black hole Captain Cooper experiences flashes of light and ship malfunctions. After ejecting himself from the ship he is transported or taken to the past in his old houses bookshelf in his daughter’s room. At this point it is like he is freely traveling through space and time.
