Upon arrival I met with employee Laura Isaac. Isaac said she had taken a twenty dollar bill from a female patron and found it to be counterfeit. Isaac and I began reviewing the video footage in which she identified a white female wearing a pink hat, gray jacket and gray t-shirt with crossbones as the suspect. Isaac said the female arrived in a silver four door truck, possibly a Dodge Dakota, with a toolbox. Officer Tubb arrived on scene and began collecting a statement from Isaac.
I left an began looking for the vehicle. As I was south on North D Street I observed a vehicle matching the description …show more content…
- Tommy asked if "they were set on money" and she told him that she was broke.
- Tommy gave her a twenty dollar bill.
- She and Boyd went to Casey's were she tried to purchase a bingo lottery ticket and fuel however, clerk told her the bill was counterfeit.
- She asked the clerk if she should wait.
- The clerk told her she would have to keep it.
- She told the clerk she didn't want it and again asked if she needed to stay.
- The clerk told her she would take care of it and she left.
- After telling Boyd the bill was counterfeit they went back to Tommy's house.
- After telling Tommy the bill was counterfeit he apologized and offered to go to the ATM to get more money.
- They began to drive to the bank near Tommy's house (First Midwest Bank) when they were stopped by police.
After completing the statement Hayes was released pending review of the probable cause affidavit which will be sent to the Butler County Prosecutor's Office.
I later learned that Chrystal Hayes was actually Misty Hayes who had an active warrant for her arrest through the State of Missouri. The charge of False Reports will be added to the probable cause
