1. Nicole lives in a home filled with domestic violence. Growing up in this environment inhibited her to be unable to recognize her anxious, panicky, and frightful feelings when her father or brother are angry. Nicole developed a maladaptive emotion scheme of when a man gets close or intimate with her, they are going to harm her. Since the men in the house treat the women like slaves, Nicole believes if she follows their command, they will not get aggressive. Her father hates when her mother shows Nicole attention and not him, so Nicole stated how her teachers told her that they care about her and provide attention.
