A Brief Story Of Paula Gonzalez's Life

Paula Gonzalez was born in 1932. She is currently alive today at the age of eighty-three, living in Ohio, she is a sister, and has been given the nicknames “Solar Nun” and “Patron Saint of Scavenging”. Paula is all about the three “R’s”, which helps contribute to some of her amazing achievements. She lives by the three “R’s” as well. Paula has added restore and replenish to her living style as well. She is all about saving the Earth. As Paula Gonzalez said, “We need “to make it rich again.” Paula joined the Sisters of Charity in Cincinnati in the year 1954. She earned her doctorate in biology at a Catholic University in Washington DC. After that she became a biology professor at the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio. She taught for twenty-one years. Then, Paula has been free-lancing it as a futurist and as an environmentalist. She has worked for more than three decades to promote sustainable living. She has also reached to thousands in person by giving over one thousand and eight hundred presentations. Paula also had developed audiotape courses that teach Earth-healing. Paula has had many great achievements. She turned a former chicken barn into an apartment that is super insulated and is run by solar power. The house is called “La Casa del Sol” which means “House of the Sun” in English. “La Casa del Sol” is 1,200 square foot, passive-solar house. Paula shares this house with another Sister of Charity. It is said that in the winter of 1985, when the temperature dropped below zero, the house temperature did not drop lower than fifty degrees, without a heater.
