The Army spend thousands of dollars for each person to be trained and when ready, the expectation is that all soldiers are going to be accountable for their own actions and will continue to operate to at the level not only taught but is expected. Establishing connections with the NCOs and other soldiers in the unit is part of that and will lead to future mission and personal success down the road. Maintaining unit accountability by trying vigorously to do the right thing and keeping track of all gear issued will help maintain the unit’s level of accountability and will reduce pressure on the unit itself. Both accountability and communication tie into each other, with most cases showing that without one you can’t confirm the other. These two along with other things have been a major part of why the Army has been around for this
