Sub- Saharan Africa is located south of North Africa and in the middle of the south Atlantic and Indian Ocean. Being such a large continent, it was picked to pieces territorially by early colonization’s from large countries in Europe. With colonization completely withdrawing from the continent, it lays divided and has many challenges to overcome becoming a functioning continent. Few countries in that continent have normalized the transition from a colony into a peaceful independent country. With corruption always being talked about, dictators make life hell for their citizens in countries like Zimbabwe, which also has so much to offer to outsiders that try to look in at its geographic beauty. With the majority of countries being in the Sub-Saharan Africa it takes a large amount of effort to unite all of them into a peaceful community. With wars, political corruption and disease spreading out, it can take away from natural opportunities that Sub- Saharan Africa has to offer such as the tourism industry that brings in a large part of any African country since they have so much to offer in the wildlife aspect. Water is the most important to Africa because it is so dry and is covered by majorly a desert landscape. With people living in a very dry climate it affects more than just the population living there. Desertification is big problems in Sub-Saharan Africa to keep the population up the farmers are gonna need to use all the land that they got. As el Niño has given California rain it has made life harder for farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa according to the African scholarly science communications and trust they give a very good point, “Imagine a World where too much rain, or too little, means the difference between a life fulfilled and a life blighted by hunger and poor nutrition.” (Stigter, 2014) The Weather determines the future for some people in Africa due to having only a farm as their only security. Desertification can be indicated by obvious patterns of weather but a more important indicator on the geography of the land is determined but what humans and wildlife are doing to that area. In study published by the Taylor and Francis group they are, “‘reduced area of water bodies’, ‘increased run-off’, ‘decreased infiltration’, ‘accelerated soil erosion and sedimentation’, and ‘deteriorated ground-water resources’” (Symeonakis, 2004) With this being said this tells us that over all water is getting more difficult to obtain because all of the listed factors are due
