I remember when I was eight years old, playing soccer at a park near my house I was approach by a stranger. This stranger told my Dad that I was a very good soccer player with great potential, that it would be honor for him to have me as part of his team. In a week or so I was practicing with his team. As soccer became a huge part of my life, soccer came first, school second. The idea that playing soccer would be my life was cemented in my head, friends and family would ask me who I would play for in the world cup, Honduras or The United States, if I would remember them when I became famous and who I would share my millions with. When I got to High School, rival coaches were surprised how well I performed against senior players. Having an ex-professional player as your coach is a great advantage, he would tell me that I was destined for great things, how in college athletes are treated better, in his mind I was a division one prospect and he would do everything in his power to make that dream happen. Then again, life happens and during the summer prior to my junior year, I tore suffered a horrific knee injury which kept me out for twelve months. I made my return during my senior year, however I was not the same mentally and was totally out of shape. My life went on, needless to say without soccer I had no future. My entire life soccer came first affecting my academic grades. My senior
