Corporations Causing Global Warming As of now, the majority of the world is able to ignore global warming. The climate changes caused by it are slight enough that few people, if anyone at all, have been affected. It is a growing problem, however. “Global warming refers to the upward temperature trend across the entire Earth since the early 20th century, and most notably since the late 1970s, due to the increase in fossil fuel emissions since the industrial revolution” (NASA: Climate Change and Global Warming). These rising temperatures can and will have drastic effects on the world in the near future if nothing is done. Many have begun to make some efforts to halt the rising temperatures by recycling and limiting energy usage, but this is not enough. Corporations are the largest contributors to fossil fuel emissions and must be the ones to take decisive actions. Global warming is the effect of industry, not individual human activities. Many people are still skeptical of the existence of global warming, despite the slow rise in global temperature and its effects. Since the industrial revolution, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has greatly increased, which has had various consequences on the world. Global temperatures have risen 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit since 1880. This heat increase has affected the top 2,300 feet of the oceans, it having warmed 0.302 degrees Fahrenheit since 1969.…
