Billy Dee was seen at the County Probation Department/Adult Services.
Identifying Information
Billy Dee is a 28-year-old Caucasian male.
The reason for the referral Billy Dee was referred to the Country Probation Department to determine suitability for treatment and the development of a treatment plan to deal with identified problems discussed later on in this report.
Behavioral Observations
His speech was normal in terms of volume, rate and prosody. Throughout the assessment process, his mood was euthymic and accompanied by appropriate affect. He was well-oriented to person, place, time, and situation. His physical appearance showed no signs of self- neglect for example, there was no concern with his hygiene His short-term memory proved to be of average capacity, and impairment of long-term memory was not detected. His judgment and capacity for abstract thought, as determined via the employment of hypothetical situations, were of limited capacity. Rapport was readily established and he exhibited an interest in the evaluation process, particularly the intelligence testing wherein he inquired as to the utility of the results for a future application to Mensa. At the age of 19 he started using marijuana. He reported disinterest in alcohol and never having used other substances. His marijuana gradually increased to the point of social isolation, financial detriment, and eventually psychosis. Billy Dee asserts that he was obsessed (with marijuana) rather than addicted. He is currently in a substance abuse treatment program which he says is “stupid” and that he has no interest is being “clean” from substances (marijuana and alcohol). He openly acknowledges the extent of his past drug abuse and the associated costs but also reflect defensiveness and involvement in an addictive
