Firstly, Angus has been bullied by Rick ever since his early school days, Rick thinks that he and Angus are totally different, in which they are, but Angus wants to fit in with everyone. “I don’t want the blubbery bogeyman or the phantoms of sexual perversity, who usually pop up to point me out for public mockery, mucking it up for me. In the movie, Angus tells Rick that no one is normal, and that in everyone in the room doesn’t have to be like Rick to be considered normal. Angus is in love with Rick’s girlfriend, so maybe this is why Rick hates Angus. Rick and Angus have been rivals ever since their early childhood. It’s not because of Rick, Angus hates his like, and he’s also upset because his parents named him after a cow. Being normal is a state of mind, in a way everybody is weird. Angus says that his parents seem very normal to him, even though they are homosexuals. Angus tried many times to control his anger by punching them in the nose, or just walking away, or sadly, joining them in making fun of him. In the film, “Angus (1995),” Angus lives with his single mother, and his wise grandfather who wants Angus to ignore the bullies and focus on getting into school. His grandfather takes him to get a tuxedo for the dance, but Angus can’t fit any of the tuxedos to match everyone else. So, Angus has to wear this purple tux that looks very embarrassing.
