Ayn Rand was born on Feburary 2nd, 1905 in Russia. When she was six years old, Ayn taught herself how to read and write. When she was 12 years old, Ayn witnessed the Bolshevik Revolution, and her family was forced to seek refuge in Crimea. Later on, Ayn Rand enrolled herself at the Petrograd State University, majoring in history. Ayn got thrown out of college right before graduating but still finished her studies a few years later. Rand entered the path of literary success and became a famous writer. Rand became involved in political activism in the 1940s.
