One of my most memorable moments while growing up was being a tomboy. I knew I was a girl but I really enjoyed playing with males. I played more with my brothers, I enjoyed being outside riding bikes and playing video games. My sister and I were different she would rather stay inside and play with her dolls. I can recall a time when my brother Montrell and I broke our parent’s favorite chair. It all started with me and Montrell running around the house chasing each other. We was having a great time laughing, talking, and running. Montrell and I were always told not run in the house and stay off the wicker chair. If I can remember clearly I think I was about seven years old. My brother and I had a hard time explaining to our parents how their chair broke. We did a lot of self –talking, which is our thinking and actions. My parents was not pleased with us. That day my parents pulled out their brown leather cowboy belt with the big silver buckle. Mom and dad called the belt Mr. Willy, it was used to hit every inch of our bottom. My mother use to always say before a whipping that this is going to hurt me more than it hurts you or spoil the child spare the rod.
